Chief Minister K Rosaih announced his resignation as Andhra Pradesh CM today. Rosaih is scheduled to meet the governor later to submit his resignation.
Rosaiah has been facing lots of opposition within his own party from supporters of Jagan, who is the son of late Andhra Pradesh CM YSR, who died in a helicopter crash last year. When Rosaiah replaced the late CM, Jagan and his supporters have challenged him openly.
Rosaiah had a meeting with the Congress leaders yesterday. The Cingress high command, for the time being, has decided not to penalize Jagan for now.
“I have done my best as the CM of the state. No one asked for my resignation, it’s my own call,” Rosaiah said while announcing his resignation on TV.
“I urge my successor to keep Andhra Pradesh Congress together”, Rosaiah further added.
Kirankumar Reddy, Geeta Reddy, B Satyanarayana, Jaipal Reddy are some of the front runners for the post of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister.
