Abiding by the ultimatum given by the Indian government to come with the solution before 31st August or shut down its shop in India, Research in Motion (RIM) has finally given up and agreed to locate its server in India.

The maker of Blackberry RIM has finally fallen before the government’s demand and agreed to provide full data access to the authorities for its corporate email and instant messaging services. With the availability of the server, the Indian authorities will be able to decode the heavily encrypted Blackberry’s traffic.

Canada based firm, RIM had to undergo tough decision by the Indian government last month as India, these days, has become the breeding ground of the insurgents and is regularly under threat of the terrorist attack feared the use of these phones for the terrorist activities by the militants.

With this decision of RIM, the Union Home Secretary GK Pillai met key officials from the Intelligence Bureau and Dept of Telecom to take a decision on the BlackBerry issue. It was decided in the meeting that the Home Ministry will review issues related to the Blackberry security within 60 days.

Earlier RIM had said that it had no ‘Master Key’ to unlock encryption codes of clients which are set at the user level and argued that it was an issue of Industry wide concern.

However, the Blackberry services have allured the attraction of about a million subscribers in India and its popularity is growing everyday as nine telecom operators including government owned BSNL and MTNL, Airtel, Vodafone, RCom and Tatas are providing the Blackberry services.

Vishwanathan Anand was in grave pain on Tuesday when the Indian Ministry went in dilemma over his citizenship and barred him from getting the Doctorate honor but Kapil Sibal after clearing his doubts apologized the grandmaster and begged sorry for his act.

Mr. Kapil Sibal, Minister of Human resource development, went far skeptical in case of citizenship of Vishwanathan Anand as he was spending most of his time in Spain despite of his home in Hyderabad.

The raging controversy between the Grand master and the HRD Minister began after Ministry felt dubious about Anand’s present nationality, despite of knowing the fact that Anand has brought many proud moments for India, when the University of Hyderabad had to delay the action to confer the honor on him yesterday.

Along with apology, the Minister has said that Anand has made country proud and the degree will be conferred on Anand at a date of his convenience.

One of the Head of the Departments of Mathematics of the University told the reporters that the honorary degree was never denied to Anand, it was only delayed on nationality confusion.

Anand feeling disappointed with the behavior of the Indian government told that he always played under Indian flag, held the Indian passport right from the time of his first overseas trip but still the government is skeptical which he was not able to grasp.

However, Kapil Sibal assured the media that there is no any issue between them on the matter as Anand had agreed to accept the degree at a convenient time depending on his availability.

This triangular series for India in Sri Lanka has not yet gone well for the Indian cricket team as in three out of the two matches played, the team has depicted the miseries of the top Indian batting order. However, Indian captain feeling this the unnerving moment is looking forward at winning tomorrows match against Black cats.

The Black Cats had earlier thrashed India by 200 runs in the first ODI of the series when the Indian batsmen succumbed to the bowling of Kiwis on the low and embarrassing total of 88.In the last match also the Indian team was collapsed on a mere total of 103 runs which was chased by the Sri Lankan team in just 15 overs. This chase by the Sri Lankan batsmen clearly exposed the poor batting performance of Indian batsmen.

The teams rarely seen such poor performance has brought worry on the face of the Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni and coach Gary Kirsten as it has affected the confidence of the team. India’s main worry is the out of form youngsters who have failed to rise to the occasion in the absence of the senior players as Sachin Tendulkar and Harbhajan Singh. Well, Yuvraj returning back with some run in the match might give Dhoni something to cheer about.

Dhoni showed worry for the upcoming match by saying:”The coming game is like semi final. We ought to do well in the match or we will have to pack our bags and go back home. Yuvraj batted well in last match and this is positive for team”.

However, New Zealand captain Ross Taylor said that Indian team is in habit of bouncing back and they are not going to take this match easy. He also said that Kiwis are looking forward for a good match without taking the opposition as easy.

The deadlock in Lok Sabha session over the increment of the pay of MPs to 50,000 from earlier Rs 16000 is likely to be over as the Bill that seeks to increase the salaries of the MPs is about to be introduced today.

Earlier yesterday, despite of the threefold increase in the salary of the MPs, many parties including mainly Mulayam’s Samajwadi Party and Lalu’s Rashtriya Janata Dal Party brought commotion in the question hour session of the Lok Sabha and argued that the salary of the MPs should be at least Rs 80001, which is more than the highest paid bureaucrat.

However, Home Minister P Chidambaram and Information and Broadcasting Minister Ambika Soni opposed such motion and told that the time was not apt for the increment of the salary to such extent. They also tried to convince the MPs with the notions of recent hike in petrol prices and the huge expense of the government over Commonwealth Games 2010.

The Lok Sabha was adjourned for an hour on Friday as SP, BSP and RJD members voiced dissatisfaction over the issue of proposed salary hike for MPs.
With the pay hike of 300 percent granted to the MPs, their daily allowance of Rs. 1000 when Parliament is in session has been doubled. Their monthly constitution allowance has also doubled from Rs. 20,000 to Rs. 40,000. For their office expenses, they now get Rs. 40,000 – twice what they were entitled to so far. Their conveyance allowance has gone from 1 lakh to 4 lakh.
It seems that the MPs are determined to bring 500 percent hike in their salary which will definitely raise the government’s expense.

The fourth day of the final Test match between India and Sri Lanka saw dramatic changes every moment with match once going in the favour of India and the other time it was Sri Lanka who came strong and surprised both the Indian team and spectators. India was on 53 for the loss of three crucial wickets at the end of the days play. Well, from here it can be prophesized that the P Sara Oval is going to bring the result but yet it’s not clear whose day will be the fifth and final day.

The batting line up succumbed to the spin of Randiv in the post tea session of the fourth day who claimed three wickets of Virendra Sehwag who went on duck, Rahul Dravid (7) and Murali Vijay for 27 today.

Sachin Tendulkar (11) with Ishant Sharma (2) sent in as night-watchman were alive on the pitch with India still requiring 203 runs to win.

The fourth day had dawned bright for the Indian team as they reduced Sri Lankan team to 87 for 7 just after the start of the days play. However, mind boggling partnership of 118 between Samaraweera (83) and Mendis with his best of 78 in the test cricket frustrated the Indian side.

Indian spinners did the spectacular bowling show on the pitch this morning and departed host team batsmen at regular interval except the last three batsmen who added 180 runs that made the contest on for Sri Lanka. They bundled them at 267 runs with each spinner, Pragyan Ojha, Amit Mishra and Sehwag, having 3 wickets in his kitty.

Now, everything depends on master blaster Sachin Tendulkar who has everything in him to steer the Indian team to the victory and level the 0-1 trailing series. We wish you best of luck!
