The most awaited case of the Indian people, RamJanmabhoomi-Babri masjid title suit verdict will depend upon the present scrutiny which is going on in the apex court today as per schedule from 10:30 in the morning.

In the present trial, the apex Court is to hear the arguments and decide whether to delay the verdict further or not in the wake of avoiding any untoward incident and religious disputes.

Showing the seriousness to the matter, the fate of the special leave petition seeking deferment of the Allahabad High Court verdict on Ayodhya, the bench consists of highly dignitary lawyers of the country including the Chief Justice of India S H Kapadia. The other judges of the bench will be Justice Aftab Alam and Justice K S Radhakrishnan.

Moreover, the Supreme Court has asked the government’s top law officer, Attorney General G. E. Vahanvati, to be present during the hearing. It means the court could pose a few questions to the government on the issue.

Earlier on Thursday, the Supreme Court listened to the petition filed by the formal bureaucrat Ramesh Chand Tripathi seeking deferment of the verdict till December 2010 in the wake of the crisis of the paramilitary forces to control any untoward incident that would have occurred following the pronouncement of the verdict.

The petition pleaded to defer the verdict because of the large deployment of the security forces in the commonwealth Games, Bihar election and Kashmir.

Well, it seems that the fate of the disputed land will be decided after the current scrutiny.

While facing tough questions by the reporters on Saturday Kalmadi, President of the Organizing Committee, accepted that he was responsible for all the mess that took place in the Games. However, he did not accept his sole responsibility for the mess and pointed fingers towards government agencies who delayed in delivering the structure on time for the finishing work.

Addressing the media person at the swanky Main Press centre he said that the role of the organizing committee was to conduct the Games and not to involve in construction work which was undertaken by government agencies. He further added that OC will take the blame on its head for the mess but it wished for the venues handed to them earlier.

Citing examples from the past he said that the situation was worse than this in 2002 Games in Manchester and athletes were made to live in a hostel of a university. However, nobody complained.

Comparing to the venues from that of Melbourne, he said that Games village is fine except with some issues to village which is being cleaned up.

When asked why the work at village lagged behind he told that OC is not responsible for it and the last 18 towers were handed to them just three days before which is being improved. He also told that had all towers were handed to him earlier, none of such issues would have surfaced.

Talking about security, he said that everything was good and all the criteria have been met.

Trial of the surface to surface missile Prithvi II from Chandipur in Orissa ended in an embarrassing failure as the ballistic missile did not take off at around 10:03 am on Friday, September 24.

As per sources who talked to the scientists on the spot, the nine metre-tall, single stage liquid propelled missile with a maximum range of 350 kilometres which was to be launched today from the Integrated Test Range in Chandipur-on-sea, Orissa was not able to launch because of the excessive smoke that enveloped the launch pad.

However, the main reason is still not clear why the missile failed to take off and the scientists are still engaged finding the reason to the problem that averted the missile to launch.

Sources have told that the test was conducted by the Strategic Forces Command. They also revealed the fact that this missile was last tested on 18th June of this year but for a shorter range.

Reporting about the features of the missile, sources told that the missile weighs 4.6 tonnes and is capable of carrying warheads weighing 500-1,000 kilograms and is equipped with an advanced inertial navigation system and has features to deceive anti-ballistic missiles.

The missile has already been inducted into the Air force of our country.

PM steps in to put check on CWG mess

In the wake of increasing international criticism over New Delhi’s preparedness to hold the Games, Manmohan Singh was left with no option but to step into the checking of the CWG mess. Prime Minister has called Union Sports Minister M S Gill and Union Urban development Minister Jaipal Reddy for the meeting at 5:00 pm on Thursday.

The meeting has been called in the wake of pulling out of many teams due to the limitations from the Games organizers side who failed to provide a hygienic Games village for their accommodations. Apart from the Group of Ministers on the Commonwealth games, Cabinet secretary K M Chandrasekhar and other top officials will also attend the meeting.

The meeting was planned after the comments from the Games boss Michael Fennel who called the Games village ‘filthy and uninhabitable’ two days ago.

Earlier on Tuesday, CGF chief executive Mike Hooper had expressed disappointment over the ill preparedness of the 2010 Games Village. He hoped the condition at the Village would improve in a couple of days.

Further the collapse of a foot over bridge outside the Jawaharlal Nehru stadium, the main venue of the Games on Tuesday and the terrorist attack on two Taiwanese nationals on Sunday has reignited concerns about building safety standards and security concerns.

The record monsoon rains, an outbreak of dengue fever, allegations of corruption have all added to concern of athletes, their families and Games officials.

Embarrassed by the series of these events , Prime minister has called meeting and definitely the ministers have to account for every criticism that the country faced recently.

Delegations must be satisfied now as their main motive to meet the hard-line Hurriyat conference leader was coveted as a group of five leaders including Communist Party of India (Marxist) Sitaram Yechury, who are the part of the 42 member all party delegation that has been sent to Kashmir for peaceful talks with the separatists, met the hard-line leader Syed Ahmed shah Geelani at his residence.

Mr. Yechury was accompanied by Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen leader Asaduddin Owaisi and three others when they met Geelani at his residence.

Earlier Geelani had shown his resent for the visit of the delegation team in Kashmir and told that it was yet another tactics of the government to deviate the people from their main demand.

Two similar groups of four members each are likely to meet moderate Hurriyat leader Mirwaiz Umer Farooq and JKLF leader Yasin Malik.

It is also reported that 15 PDP delegates were sent to meet the all-party delegation after PDP Chief Mehbooba Mufti refused to meet the delegation.

Folks a major headache has been averted which would have brought tension in your daily life. Yes, the petroleum traders have deferred their strike once again. The nationwide indefinite strike has been deferred in the wake of the agreement of the centre to look into the demands of the traders.

The proposed indefinite strike which was planned to hit the nation from Monday for the unfulfilled demands of Federation of All-India Petroleum Traders (FAIPT) including hiking dealers’ commission from 2 per cent to 5 per cent has been postponed.

‘No sale , No purchase’ campaign by the traders was deferred on Saturday after several rounds of talks that went between Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Murli Deora, who was accompanied by senior ministry officials, and FAIPT functionaries. The talks went in the favour of the FAIPT as the minister assured them to look into the matter.

The petrol dealers contended that they were running into losses as they also had to cater to 25 lakh employees working in pumps. In the early part of the week, the federation had taken a decision to launch a nationwide strike and keep petrol pumps shut indefinitely till the demands were accepted.

Deora while addressing press conference told that the strike has been postponed for three months as this is the tenure which the government has took from the traders to take decision on the issue and their demands.

FAIPT general secretary Ajay Bansal told their demand that petrol and diesel be sold at uniform rates across the country, it was decided that the ministry will strongly take up the matter of rationalising sales tax and VAT with State governments, besides requesting Union Finance Ministry to include petrol and diesel under the GST.

Advani’s move to visit Amit shah, former Gujarat Minister of Home for state, in Sabarmati jail on Saturday has incited many leaders from the ruling party to stand on their heels and criticize the BJP senior leader move.

Advani’s visit to Sabarmati Jail has been criticized as the height of shamelessness and the promotion of the extortionist.

As per report of the sources, senor congress leader Arjun Modhvadia alleged that Advani was trying to put pressure on the CBI and Judiciary by paying a visit to shah. The sources also said that the visit came a day after the BJP posted surprise win in the Kathlal by-poll and in the wake of the resentment among Shah’s supporter who blame the poor party’s leadership for Shah’s present misery.

One of the supporters of Shah also said that when Shah’s issue happened, none of the BJP leaders made effective representation before the Central government.

In the wake of the criticism, Advani told the reporters that he had visited jail to inquire about the health of shah.

Congress leader Modhvadia came heavily on Advani and also asked Advani why he did not meet Jagruti Pandya, widow of BJP leader Haren Pandya, when she requested a reinvestigation into the death of her husband from Modi. The congress leader also claimed that ruling party in the state won the seat in kathlal by dumping millions of rupees, misusing government machinery and providing booze.

BJP replying to acerbic comment of the Congress, told that criticism came in the wake of disappointment in Congress circles over the party’s surprise defeat in the Kathlal by-poll.
