After a complete day of sensible play, Indian batsmen by the end of the days play in their hurried approach were stumbled upon by the Australian bowlers. It was the fall of Sachin Tendulkar after which the Indian batting saw a dramatic collapse. India was bowled at the total of 405 runs, 23 runs short of the visitors in 108 overs.
The crowd badly missed the Indian skipper Sachin Tendulkar’s missed century by 2 runs. Tendulkar who played almost complete day sensibly lost his concentration on the ball of North who got him lbw out when he was on 98.
A great show was put up by the Australian bowlers who came back strongly and dismissed the last six Indian batsmen in the final hour of the day for just 51 runs.
At one stage India was moving briskly with the scoreboard reading 354 runs for the loss of four wickets. Tendulkar and Raina shared 124 runs for the 4th wicket partnership until in the 96th over part time off- spinner Marcus North turned out to be party pooper for the Indian fans who trapped Tendulkar leg before two runs short of century.
After the departure of Sachin Tendulkar, the lower middle order batsmen collapsed like pack of cards with Johnson inflicting the maximum damage. His five wicket haul had broken the backbone of the Indian batsmen.
Johnson dismissed skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni (14) and Habhajan Singh (0) in successive deliveries and later accounted for Raina. Earlier, Dravid after scoring 77 runs became the prey of Doug Bollinger.
However, both Hilfenhaus and Hauritz were on the expensive side. While Hilfenhaus gave away 64 runs in 16 overs, Hauritz had an unimpressive none for 48 to show for his efforts.

truly speaking india heavily resides on shouder of sachin dravid and laxman
after their retirement there will be huge gaps to feel raina seems promising but dhoni is total dross
he just know how to earn money form endorsements all the stratergy decided by gary kirsten who never takes credit
dhoni never dared to come in front of laxman even if he was injured
if not of those senior players india could have shred into pieces right now
you can see
no sachin how india lost in srilanka in that one day series
with low totals
truely these guys are legend big shoes will be left behind with no one perhaps for now feets in
