Maoists willing to talk on three conditions

It seems that the President Pratibha Patil address to the nation has worked as the Maoists on Tuesday have showed some interests to negotiate to the centre provided that their three demands are fulfilled.

It is Communist Party of India rebels who have come forward for talk to the centre and its spokesperson, Koteshwar Rao alias Kishanji told to Hindustan times that they are ready to support the government in promoting peace and want to join their hands with the government to help country to pickup in economic and social development.

Kishanji also told that there every step, though violent is meant for the goodwill of nation and they care for it not less than a true patriot. He further told that they respected honourable President Pratibha Patil’s appeal asking them to shun the path of violence and help in fighting against the other external problem like terrorism.

Taking the appeal of talking to the government positively, Kishanji who represented Maoists put their three demands that would initiate the negotiation between them. First, they wanted the announcement of ceasefire for three months to make the environment apt for talks. Secondly, they wanted the government to propose a neutral committee comprising of human rights activists Swami Agnivesh, Medha Patkar, Kabir Suman, BD Sharma, Arundhati Roy, Gautam Naulakha and Kannabiran to facilitate and mediate the talks. Thirdly, he said that AP Chief Minister K Rosaiah and Home Minister P Chidambaram to step down in killing of their leader Azad.

With these demands fulfilled, Maoists have promised to work against the separatists and terrorist forces and offer huge support to the government in all spheres.
