Speaking to the media persons, Vidya Kulkarni, CBI-ACB (Anti Corrupt Bureau) Superintendent, said that the CBI was lodging a complaint at the Wanwadi police station against the army official Major General Surendra Panwar for impeding the public servants from discharging their public duties.

Reportedly, the hindrance was made when a team of CBI-ACB sleuths raided the hospital premises in order to probe a complaint of irregularities concerning the surgical equipments and medicines. The complaint was lodged by a vendor alleging hospital authorities indulge in seeking illegal satisfaction and irregularities in purchase, who was engaged in supplying medicines and surgical equipments to the hospital.

The report further says, initially CBI personnel faced resistance by military officials then they moved to local police station for assistance. Finally, the investigation work was done with the help of local police. During the investigation, the CBI officials seized an AC (account) unit from the hospital when some controversial papers, related to purchase were found.

However, a Military Commandant Hospital spokesman has slammed the allegations of manhandling the CBI team by CBI. Ms Kulkarni said to the media that the complaint had also not mentioned any manhandling by the authorities.
