The BCCI has been experiencing a lot of negative vibes this season. Starting from minor issues in the starting of the season to the main controversies related to the head of IPL, Lalit Modi. Now there is another controversy that has been sparked off by Indian Captain MS Dhoni. Dhoni was being interviewed after the recent loss at T20 World Cup. And here, Dhoni said that one of the reasons why the team could not perform better was because the IPL had taken a toll on the team players. This statement later led to an aggressive debate between the player and BCCI biggies.

Dhoni said that IPL is just not just all about cricket and there any other things attached to its strings. He said the players needs to be smart enough and give the body its time, space and due respect. There have been constant day-night matches, followed by lots of parties and the dawn breaks off with a lot of travelling. And all this, at the end of the day takes a player for a toll.
There were a number of reasons that led to this high range drama. Initially it was about the tight packed schedule given off by the IPL committee to the players. The players were so exhausted that they didn’t even play a single practice match. This issue was once bought into light by the Indian coach Gary Kirsten in 2009 but no step was taken towards this. He said there should be a gap of at least 1 month between IPL and the major tournaments. Secondly, it was about the performances falling short. The batsmen froze before short-pitched bowling in 2009.
Later it was the poor selection of players by the board. Most of the players was chosen on basis of their reputation and not on their form. Some strong players like Amit Mishra, Prayan Ojha, Manish Pandey, Virat Kohli and Robin Uthappa were completely ignored by the selection Board.

The level-headed Virat Kohli, who is barely 21 years of age, is all set to handle a lot of pressure of being a star himself. And he considers this a great achievement. But his accomplishment on the cricket field has not yet been applauding. With time, he is only getting better. Virat says that the last couple of weeks were pretty good for him and the hard work he had put in has paid off.

Though disappointment of not being selected into the world T20 team is lingering around, he has learned loads to keep it off and to shrug away its affects. She says the team has a good balance and he thinks the selectors have got the combination right. And he doesn’t dispute that. On the other hand there is no doubt about India’s inconsistent performance in the premier world journey. He says the Indian cricketers are brilliant against South Africa but they didn’t do well against Australia. And it is bound to happen in this format.

It is also very true with his Indian Premier League (IPL) too. They had a great run before achieving the respectable third position in the series. Now with the player auctions are around the corner, he seems to be little keen on joining his hands with the Bangalore team. But at present he is all focused on representing his side at the Champions League T20.
