Yeddyurappa, the Karnataka CM, who have been in news for alleged land scams worth crores of rupees, will still continue as the CM. BJP Chief Nitin Gadkari, today announced that after consulatations with senior leaders and state leaders, the party has decided that BS Yeddyurappa will continue as Karnataka CM.
Gadkari also said that while the Commission of Inquiry appointed by the Karnataka government would go into the allegations of land allotment against him, the party was also requested by the Chief Minister to go into these or any other allegations.
THe BJP’s decision came after Yeddyurappa went to the offensive by threatening that if he goes down, he will take down Sushma Swaraj and Ananth with him. He also threatened that his supporters of more than 13 MLAs will resign which will eventually lead to the collapse of the BJP government in Karnataka.
Yedyurappa also belongs to the majority Lingayat community and keeping in light of the panchayat and zila parishad elections coming round the corner might have influenced the decision.
Gadkari said the allegations against Yeddyurappa had created an environment of uncertainty in the state.
